In my latest National Post column I take on the concept that a new phone, or new anything, can revolutionize our lives every few years.
A great turnout for the grand opening of the Canadian Centre for Men and Families - Ottawa on Saturday. And a very nice piece in the Ottawa Citizen.
So thanks to everyone who came to the event, and to everyone who helped make it possible from donors to volunteers to staff. And if you know anyone in the Ottawa area who needs the services the CCMF-O is putting in place, from crisis counselling to support groups to legal issues to advice on fathering after divorce (or just in general) please refer them to the centre.
In my latest National Post column I say tax reform would be easier to discuss and accomplish if governments weren't universally desperate for money. So arguably politicians and voters should give more thought to why they are.
if you're in the Ottawa area this Saturday please consider attending the Grand Opening of the Canadian Centre for Men and Families - Ottawa, "the first Men’s Centre in the nation’s capital".
"Those who talk of 'tolerating all opinions' are very provincial bigots who are only familiar with one opinion."
G.K. Chesterton in Illustrated London News Feb. 24, 1912, quoted in Gilbert Magazine Vol. 9 #6
Next Saturday, Sept. 9, at 1:00, the Canadian Centre for Men and Families - Ottawa is having its Grand Opening. It's "Ottawa’s first health and social service hub uniquely dedicated to the unmet needs of boys, men, fathers and their families" and the event is at the centre, at 292 Montreal Road, Suite 302.
Whether or not you can make the Grand Opening, the Centre needs your support. I do hope to see you there.
In my latest National Post column I say the debate on niqabs ultimately hinges on what human beings are, that they should have rights... or not.
